Projects

The Road Ahead is a seven-year project of public sculpture by Bobbie Fennick on the re-built Haggerston and Kingsland Estate in Hackney, London. Commissioned by Creative City Creative Agency and supported by LQ Housing Association. Bobbie created the works through intensive 70-day residency onsite with residents, who helped design the relief carvings, and learned stone-carving techniques in a series of workshops.

Heygate

Over four years, the massive Heygate Estate in South London awaited ‘regeneration’, and photographer Jill Newman visited daily, documenting the way nature reclaimed the space, revealling the beauty of the brutalist architecture. She also documented a few remaining residents who clung on to their homes in the face of a concerted effort to evict them.
